REDUCE COOLING LOAD BY

GPS- Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization System

The Challenge

Food processing plants are notorious for having microbial growth on cooling coils. As the coils become fouled with biofilm, the pressure drop increases adding to fan energy consumption, while heat transfer is reduced, adding additional load to the cooling system. Historically, UVC has been used to control biofilm growth. UVC can only kill that on which it shines and does not penetrate the entire depth of the coil. Nor does it do anything for odor or particle control.

The Solution

The GPS-IMOD mounted to the cooling coil inlet allows cold plasma to flow through the entire depth of the cooling coil, sanitizing the coil as well as the space. The GPS-iMOD requires no maintenance, no replacement parts, and has no safety concerns. The cold plasma produced reduces TVOCs, kills mold, and reduces particulates.

The Results

By adding the GPS-iMOD to your cooling coils, you will realize fan energy savings through lower pressure drop across the coils and reduce your cooling load by improving the heat transfer through the coils. Users can realize up to 33% reduced cooling load by making sure their coils are free of biofilm which leads to reduced maintenance time and costs while providing better overall indoor air quality.*

Manufacturers of food products, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors, as well as hospitals, are a few places where the GPS-iMOD is being used in place of UVC and carbon.
